In the high jungle, the Chanchamayo Valley is a habitat for numerous orchid species, including Masdevallia ayabacana, Masdevallia echo, Masdevallia bicolor and Masdevallia jarae. In general, the following varieties can be seen: Epidendrum, Chysis, Gongora, Lycaste, Maxillaria, Odontoglossum, Sobralia, Xylobium and many more.
The orchid population in the Cedar Forests of Pampa Hermosa is varied. The same is true for the Tirol Waterfalls zone and in the surroundings of the hotels, where the orchids greet the thousands of visitors with their colour and aroma. The Salva Tierra Botanical Garden is also a highlight. The area has good hotel infrastructure, restaurants with traditional food and a variety of shops.
