We will become acquainted with the 'City of the Kings', Lima, in its colonial and modern sectors. From there we will head to 'the white city', Arequipa, where we will be able to enjoy its friendly atmosphere and its impressive views of the Misti Volcano. Afterwards, we will continue to one of the deepest canyons in the world, the Colca Canyon, passing through breathtaking landscapes on the way.

We will end up in the town of Chivay, where we will continue getting to know the attractions of the region.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Lima

Introduction at the airport of departure. Flight to Lima. Reception at Jorge Chávez International Airport and transfer to the selected hotel. Accommodation.

Day 2: Lima: City Tour – Colonial and Modern + Archaeological Museum

Breakfast. Visit to the Historical Center: Guided tour of the Cathedral, panoramic visit to the Convents of Santo Domingo and San Francisco, tour of the Plaza Mayor and Plaza San Martín. Tour of the residential neighborhoods of San Isidro and Miraflores. Visit to the Archaeological Museum, where archaeological pieces worked in metals and textiles, from the various Peruvian cultures that preceded the Incas, are exhibited. Rest of the afternoon free. An opportunity to sample renowned Peruvian gastronomy; visit the Barranco neighborhood, the birthplace of poets and writers (part of the literary route of Mario Vargas Llosa); or continue with the tour to more of the capital's attractions. Accommodation in the selected hotel.

Day 3: Lima / Arequipa: City tour

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport to take a flight to the city of Arequipa. Arrival and shuttle to hotel. Free time. An optional visit to the Museum of the Andean Altars ('Altares Andinos') is recommended, where you can see the "Momia Juanita", a sacrificed Inca girl who was found at the top of the Ampato volcano, and who would become one of the best preserved mummies on the planet. It is also an opportunity to taste the wonderful cuisine of Arequipa or to stroll through its pleasant and colonial streets. In the afternoon, a tour of the so-called "White City", including the Convent of Santa Catalina, (a city within the city), the Plaza de Armas, the Cloisters of the Company (with an interior visit of the dome of San Ignacio), and the residential districts of Yanahuara and Chilina, where you can take in a magnificent view of the Misti volcano. Accommodation in the selected hotel.

Day 4: Arequipa / Colca Canyon

Breakfast. Departure to one of the deepest canyons on the planet, the Colca Canyon. We will pass through Pampa Cañahuas near the Salinas-Aguada Blanca National Reserve, the Bofedales de Tocra and the "Mirador de los Volcanes", the highest point and best place from which to look at the biggest mountains and volcanoes of the region, before arriving at Chivay, departure and arrival point for visits to the area. Lunch. Transfer to accommodation. In the afternoon, optionally (for those staying in Chivay), you are offered the possibility of visiting the natural hot springs of La Calera (entrance fee not included). Accommodation in the selected hotel. The Colca Lodge and El Refugio hotels have their own hot springs.

Note: Don't forget to bring swimwear for the thermal baths and/or swimming pools. For those staying at the Colca Lodge or the El Refugio hotel, you will be able to enjoy the hotel's own hot springs.

Day 5: Colca Canyon / Arequipa

Breakfast. We will head to a place called "Cruz del Cóndor" (Condor's Cross), a viewpoint from where you can appreciate the depth of the canyon and the bold flight of the condors. We will also visit the towns of Yanque and Maca and their colonial churches, and we will enjoy lovely views of the valley before reaching Chivay. Lunch. Continue to Arequipa. Arrival in the city and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.

Day 6: Arequipa / Lima

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport to take a flight back to the capital. Arrival and connection with international flight back to the city of origin.

Packages do not include:

  • Meals (not stated as included), or Beverages.
  • Excursions that are not mentioned or are stated as optional, entrance fees to museums, monuments and others NOT mentioned in the program.
  • Cost of passport or personal expenses such as telephone calls, internet, room service, laundry, tips, etc.

Important note:

  • These packages have been calculated on the basis of regular travel seasons. They do NOT apply to travel during "high occupancy" periods, such as Carnivals, Easter, national holidays, long weekends, Christmas, New Year or any other high occupancy period. If the traveler decides to travel during these high season dates, a new quote will be made reflecting the corresponding price increase.

  • Office hours: From 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. The price is guaranteed only with the payment. COLUMBIA TOURS reserves the right to cancel reservations that have not previously been paid within the established period. Rates may increase in price. Reservations, payments and cancellations are subject to rules and penalties to be specified at the time of package payment.
  • Part payment is required to make a reservation. Packages are NOT refundable or transferable for any reason. Prices are subject to hotel and airline availability.
  • COLUMBIA TOURS explicitly declares that it acts as an intermediary between customers and the persons or entities called upon to provide the services, such as transport companies, cruise ships, hotels, etc.; moreover.
  • COLUMBIA TOURS disclaims any responsibility for undelivered services, delays, strikes, earthquakes, hurricanes, quarantines, overbookings on cruises, and other causes of force majeure, as well as any loss, damage, accident or irregularity that may occur to travelers and their belongings when they are caused by third parties beyond our control and/or their associated suppliers. In the event that COLUMBIA TOURS encounters difficulties in the delivery of a contracted or similar service, COLUMBIA TOURS absolutely disclaims all responsibility and will only refund the value paid for it. COLUMBIA TOURS is not responsible for any problem with the airline and COLUMBIA TOURS is not responsible for changes and/or cancellations of itineraries by the airlines that affect the land portion once the services are confirmed.
  • If the traveler does not show up on the day of the trip (is a "NO SHOW"), there will be no refund or change of date for travel for any reason. Other restrictions apply. ALL minors traveling with their parents must carry their birth certificate or youth identification card. Minors who do NOT travel with a parent must apply for an exit permit at www.migracion.gob.pa
