Found in the Andes cordillera, this bird is regarded as an expert in singing duets with its mate, with male and female alternating their songs in such an antiphonal way that it gives the impression of being a single bird producing these harmonious melodies. The bird measures 15 cm long and has a white face and breast, black-striped wings and tail and a dark belly.
They can be spotted all year round in areas of dense carob forests or in more open areas with small shrubs and trees. The bird is common to a large part of the region.
