Forests in Peru: renewing energy with nature

The beauty in the landscapes of the Peruvian forests cannot be described. Each of these destinations has something mystique, due to the large number of endemic species that are protected here. Often, visitors learn more about the care and protection that should be taken with these spaces and, above all, renew their energies in this connection with nature.

Three destinations are listed here, under the denomination of Protected Forests, whose function is to protect the upper basins, riverbanks and other water resources, and to allow activities that do not endanger the natural area.

Here you can observe a large number of resident and migratory birds, such as herons, ducks, seagulls, and sandpipers. Its vegetation is composed of willow, reeds, seashore saltgrass, among others. In 2022 it celebrated its 40th anniversary.

It is considered one of the priority areas for conservation in the country, as it is home to a large number of endemic species. In addition to bird watching such as the long-whiskered owlet, hummingbirds, among other species, there are also several waterfalls, such as Santa Patricia, La Caída del Oso, Venceremos, Sol de Oro, and Urcochaqui. You can also visit several lakes, as well as the Guacharos cave.
