24th Lima International Book Fair

An important cultural event that attracts thousands of reading enthusiasts and brings together Peruvian and foreign writers. Here, you can enjoy great presentations, buy books by successful authors at special prices, and attend musical events and conferences. It will be held from July 19 to August 4.

National Holidays

National commemoration that celebrates the country's independence, and includes public events such as the Te Deum in the Cathedral and the traditional Military Parade which takes place downtown on Avenida Brasil, attended by the country's top officials. It takes place on July 28 and 29, public holidays.

23rd International Film Festival

At the Lima Film Festival you can enjoy the best Latin American films, as well as meet Peruvian directors, actors and scriptwriters from all over the world, who participate in specialized talks and discussions. It will be held from August 9 to 17, 2019 in the capital, and is organized by the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru through its Cultural Center.

Themed tour "Santa Rosa de Lima, history and legends"

Everything about Lima's saint can be discovered on this tour. During the tour, the author of the book 'Pinceladas Limeñas', Marco Antonio Capristán, will share his knowledge about Santa Rosa de Lima. In addition, the Church of San Sebastián (where she was baptized) and the Monastery of Rosa de Santa María (where she lived and died) will be visited. Her room, the hermitage and the altar will also be visited, and paintings and sculptures of her will be shown. The tour begins at the main door to the Santa Rosa de Lima Sanctuary, starting at 10 am. Upon registration attendees will receive a bracelet, the first 100 of which will be given a picture of Santa Rosa de Lima.

Museum exhibits in the cinema

Exhibitions of the world’s greatest museums on the big screen. There will be eight HD productions that will give art lovers the opportunity to enjoy great works by the most renowned painters in history. The Prado Museum collection and the works of Van Gogh, Caravaggio, Picasso, Tintoreto, Gauguin, Monet and Klimt have been selected to be shown in cinemas. It will be held from February 27 to September 25 at 8 pm.

Huaqueros del Museo (‘Museum Raider’) Exhibition

An exhibition that exhibits cultural objects from different parts of the world. It shows the silhouettes of various sacred artifacts from ancient world civilizations, which are currently on display in museums of history and archeology in cities such as Berlin, Madrid and Amsterdam, among others. Through the silhouettes, the artist proposes moving these objects from their original space in order to generate a dialog about the meaning they acquire in museums. It will take place from February 20 to June 2.
