The El Brujo Archaeological Complex is composed of three great structures: Huaca Prieta, Huaca Cao Viejo and Huaca Cortada.

Magical-religious beliefs are expressed in the Sacrifice Wall, a 30-meter high great pyramid with exquisitely decorated walls. The most famous image is that of the “Decapitator”, a motif which is repeated countless times on Moche pottery.

The Cao Museum is also situated at this complex, and it houses the intact, mummified body of the female Moche culture ruler: The Lady of Cao.
