The 2018 Dakar Rally will celebrate its 40th year, starting in Lima, putting Peru in the eyes of 190 million spectators from around the world.
Etienne Lavigne and Marc Coma, Amaury Sports Organization (ASO) directors, who organize this competition, announced the route will have six stages in Peru, passing through Pisco, San Juan de Marcona, Arequipa and Puno, before continuing the journey through Bolivia and Argentina.
"The Dakar Rally returns to our country and we want this to be a celebration for all Peruvians. This race is a perfect international platform to show that we can organize top-level sporting events while showing the warmth of our people and our biodiversity. The dunes of the coast, the valleys of the Andes and the Puna high plateau will shine," said the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Eduardo Ferreyros.
During the event, the Peruvian pilots and co-drivers will race to represent their home country. who have registered to date and who will seek to leave the name of the country at the top during the race were introduced.

1st stage: January 6 / Lima - Pisco
2nd stage: January 7 / Pisco - Pisco
3rd stage: January 8 / Pisco - San Juan de Marcona

5th stage: January 10 / San Juan de Marcona - Arequipa
6th stage: January 11 / Arequipa - La Paz (via Puno)
