Inti Raymi, the festival of the Sun
This celebration, which brings together thousands of visitors from around the world, represents the most important festival of the Tahuantinsuyo, where people from the four suyos used to gather to worship the god Inti or Sun.
In ancient times, Inti Raymi lasted 15 days and aimed to ensure a prosperous harvest year in the Inca Empire. Today, the tradition remains as a theatrical representation with mysticism and spirituality.
Inti Raymi has been declared a Cultural Heritage of Peru due to its growing global importance as the most representative cultural festival of the country.
Cusco is synonymous with grandeur, festivity, and tradition. Being in this city means immersing oneself in the aura of mysticism and spirituality that characterizes it. It means breathing history with every step taken on its cobblestone streets and feeling the vibrant and incomparable energy of the greatest empire in South America.
