Hang gliding and Paragliding

The paraglider flies over a series beautiful landscapes along the coastline of the Miraflores and San Isidro districts. There are specialized companies offering flights through the air, with instructors registered with the Peruvian Free Flight Association. The service can be booked along the Malecón de la Costa Verde. This activity has hundreds of fans in Peru and is an original way to combine tourism and sport. At present, gliders measure about 32 feet and weigh about 77 pounds. They are extremely strong, safe, stable and maneuverable.

Surfing - Costa Verde

Peru's beaches are known by experts for being among the best in the world to ride waves. There are surfing opportunities all year round with small, large, long, tubular, high peak and bell waves, as well as a large number of breakers very close to each other. The central coast has constant waves during the winter (April to September). You can surf along the coast of the districts of Chorrillos, Barranco and Miraflores.

Campo de Marte

If you're looking for open space, Campo de Marte is the place to walk or ride a bicycle. The area covers 17 acres (68,850 m2), and not only has space for running or cycling, but also an outdoor gym where you can exercise in the morning. Public institutions and sports organizations are located around it.

Miraflores, Barranco and San Isidro

You can start the route at any point between the neighborhoods of San Isidro and Barranco, with your own bike or a rental, which you can find at the information point located in the Salazar Park, near the Larcomar Mall, which has many shops and first class restaurants. The route offers an excellent view of the sea since it is parallel to the Pacific coast and crosses three districts: San Isidro, Miraflores and Barranco. On the way you can enjoy coffee shops, visit craft shops, and even go paragliding. The visit is complemented by visits to the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC) or the Mario Testino Museum (MATE).

El Pentagonito

If you want to run to stay healthy, head to San Borja Norte Avenue, around the so-called 'Pentagonito'. Here you can do outdoor activities every day of the week, free of charge. Exclusive activities can be done during the weekends and there are outdoor gyms available to anyone interested. It is also suitable for cyclists.

Amistad Park

If you’re looking for an enclosed space, the Amistad Park is a good place to train. However, it should be noted that Sundays are the busiest days. If you want to do recreational activities, you can also rent a pedal boat or ride the train, which has three carriages.

El Golf Park

If you prefer being in the open air, this is the place for you. With its distance of almost 2.5 miles, El Golf has become a favorite of locals and athletes who love to run and exercise outdoors. It is best to go there in the mornings, at around 6 am, since during peak hours there may be traffic congestion, which would make your visit less pleasant.

Malecón de Miraflores

The best place to jog or run is, without a doubt, the Malecón, which runs along the district of Miraflores and, with its sea view and extensive vegetation, motivates you to exercise. Hence why it is very common to see people of all ages wearing sportswear at any time of day. From the Manuel Bonilla Stadium to the Bajada de Armendáriz you can do a 3 mile route and take advantage of the trails that are in perfect condition.

Recreational cycle route

Every Sunday of the year, from 7am to 1pm, the Municipality of Lima closes Arequipa Avenue from Miraflores to Cercado de Lima to provide a sports and leisure space. This route is considered to be an interdistrict cycle path, where cyclists and pedestrians have enough space to do activities without any public or private transport. Some of the activities that take place are aerobics, trekking, capoeira, skating, artistic activities and theater workshops for children.
