Renascent cities, new trails for hikers and a variety of hotels are all offered to us by Peru travel guide expert Chris Moss. In recent years, Peru has joined the current of modernity and is able to receive any type of traveler, even those with high standards for luxury and comfort.
Moss recommends going on the famous Walking Tours in Lima, like the one led by Dutch immigrant Ronald Elward (limawalks.blogspot.co.uk). The specialist also highlights bicycle outings that are fun for curious visitors and a good way to see and explore the narrow streets full of charming restaurants, bars and old hotels.
For Chris Moss, Peru's great heart is divided between Cusco and Machu Picchu, with its stream of passengers and sightseers coming to visit each year. The constant search for new niches has led hotel companies to offer increasingly lavish accommodation. Moss describes these hotels for a high-end stay: the Inkaterra hotel, the eccentric "21 Habitaciones" and the Río Sagrado hotel, which offer gourmet lunches and pottery classes, among other luxury services.
The tourism expert applauds the work of Peru's tourism office, and mentions a plan to build cable cars for quicker access to remote sites. Lastly, he emphasizes Peru's megadiversity, which includes the Amazon jungle, where the world's most important protected natural areas can be found.
