Huascaran National Park will continue to offer a wide range of tourism experiences.
Visiting Huascaran National Park, in Peru’s Ancash region, means stepping into one of South America’s most breathtaking landscapes—a natural sanctuary where the Cordillera Blanca rises as a living monument of ice and biodiversity.

With this in mind, mountaineering and climbing activities on all snow-capped peaks of the Cordillera Blanca resumed on April 1, 2026, after being suspended for just over three months as a preventive measure in response to the impacts of climate change.
Far from limiting the visitor experience, this decision strengthens Huascaran National Park’s position as a destination committed to responsible, safe tourism and the protection of its natural heritage. By safeguarding this unique place today, we ensure it remains an essential part of the landscape—and the experience—for generations to come.

During this period, the park continues to offer a rich and diverse range of experiences that allow visitors to fully enjoy its beauty. Trekking along its most iconic routes remains fully open, inviting travelers to explore trails surrounded by snowcapped peaks, glacial lakes, and high-Andean forests. Hikes to spots such as 69 or Llanganuco Lagoons offer a deep connection with nature and the mountains—without the need to reach the highest summits.
Visits to glacial lakes are, without a doubt, among the most memorable experiences in Huascaran National Park.
