The virtues of Peruvian coffee were promoted in Milan, thanks to the work carried out during the “Peru feeds your soul” program. Peruvian coffee expert David Torres Bisseti and Italian chef Daniel Canzian gave an informative presentation on coffee from the Junín region.
Torres Bisseti and Canzian prepared a menu especially designed for the presentation. Guests tasted a selection of foods and drinks, including coffee-based beverages, which were served instead of wine alongside dishes. The “black bean” was also used in some desserts served during the dinner, which was hosted by the prestigious Daniel restaurant.
Over the course of the evening, guests were impressed by the coffee from Satipo, Yapaz Bajo and Curibamba, villages located in the Junín region. The exposition of these foods showed the Italian public a novel way to enjoy coffee, a beverage that is already widely consumed in Italy.
Guests were given the opportunity to drink the beverage in a wine glass, so they could experience coffee’s aromatic qualities more thoroughly. To their surprise, they were also given the chance to drink coffee in its pure state. A shot of coffee was served with sweet dishes, adding the perfect touch to this Milanese evening, where everyone learned a lot about the coffee beans grown in this specific region of Peru.
