Latin America’s largest food fair, Mistura, opened its doors to the public to delight us with its delicious dishes this September 3rd through 13th. Through Supreme Resolution N°003-2015, the Executive Branch declared Mistura a matter of national interest. The resolution was published in the official state gazette “El Peruano” and used by Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism and PROMPERÚ board president Magali Silva to publicize the event.

The minister also specified that the President of the Nation, Ollanta Humala Tasso, supported the initiative, since the fair plays an important role in Peru’s sustainable and inclusive development.

Mistura not only showcases Peruvian food to the media and people of Peru, but is also now a tourist attraction which draws foreigners to visit our country.

PROMPERÚ invited 35 journalists to spread the word about the exquisiteness of Peru’s food at Mistura. Also invited was Manuel Alfaro, an ambassador of Peruvian food who, although Puerto Rican, has set up a successful business selling the most flavorful dishes from Peru in the streets of Washington D.C.
