Peru assumed the chairmanship of the Committee on Tourism and Competitiveness of UNWTO, and submitted a report on the “Competitiveness of Tourist Destinations.” The aim of the proposal is to identify the factors that explain competitiveness at tourist destinations, as well as to establish actions that favor CTC’s agenda.
A top priority in the work of the Committee on Tourism and Competitiveness is to provide a forum for dialogue between the agents of the public, private and academic spheres of the tourist sector, within a coherent framework to strengthen policies and strategies for competitiveness in tourism. Its members are also in charge of preparing definitions and concepts relevant to the sector.
