At the gala of the prestigious 2015 World Travel Awards – South America Region, held at the Colon Theater in Bogotá (Colombia), for the fourth straight year Peru was announced as the 2015 Leading Culinary Destination and also as South America's Leading Cultural Destination.
In addition to these important accolades, Peru's private sector took the top spot a total of eight other categories. Its excellent work led to six awards for the hotel industry and two for tour operators.
At the World Travel Awards Peru won:
1. Leading Culinary Destination 2015
2. South America's Leading Cultural Destination.
3. Leading Airport Hotel: Wyndham Costa del Sol.
4. Leading Business Hotel: Swissotel Lima.
5. Leading Casino Resort: Los Delfines Hotel & Casino.
6. Leading Heritage Hotel: Belmond Hotel Monasterio.
7. Leading Resort: Hotel Paracas, a Luxury Collection Resort.
8. Most Romantic Resort: Belmond Miraflores Park.
9. Leading Green Tour Operator: Explorandes.
10. Leading Tour Operator: Yampu Tours.
The winners of this regional edition of the World Travel Awards will participate in the global World Travel Awards at a gala on December 12 in Morocco.
