'Peru, Hidden Treasure' is an 80 minute documentary film that shows the wonders of Peru to the world and will be released in local cinemas next Thursday, November 9.
After its premiere in Peruvian theaters, the film will make its global debut on November 25, exclusively on Netflix.
The film is a journey through Peru, created by Uruguayan filmmaker Luis Ara, who invites us to discover the treasures that time has managed to preserve that are even unknown to the Peruvians themselves and will seek to gain hundreds of thousands of spectators around the world.
"The filming was exciting. Each of the places we visited had its charm. The coast, its incredible beaches, the sunset in the desert, sailing in the Maranon River in the Amazon forest, meeting people from all corners of Per and the archaeological sites where one feels as though they are traveling through time. It has been an unforgettable experience that we want to share with the world", said Luis Ara.
The documentary features Peruvian nature, landscapes and geography, but also takes a tour through Peruvian cuisine and the cultural heritage of the civilizations that inhabited Peru. In order to make this production a reality, the team led by Ara, traveled through several regions of Peru for eight months.
Among the places that appear in the film are the beaches of Lobitos, Cabo Blanco, Chicama, the deserts of Ica and Nasca, the Colca Canyon, Lake Titicaca, as well as the archaeological sites of Machu Picchu, Kuelap and Karajía. They also sailed the Amazon River and visited the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.
