With more than 1,800 bird species—117 of them endemic—Peru is one of the most biodiverse countries on the planet. This incredible richness makes the country an exceptional destination for travelers seeking birdwatching experiences in unique natural settings.
Specialized routes are available across Peru’s three main regions: the north (Amazonas, San Martín, Loreto), the center (Lima and Junín), and the south (Madre de Dios, Cusco, Arequipa, Puno). Each area offers diverse ecosystems and ideal habitats for birdwatching, along with tourist services, expert guides, and a deep connection with nature.

Within this context, Peru took part in Global Birdfair 2025, held from July 11 to 13 at Lyndon Park, Rutland (United Kingdom). This is one of the world’s most renowned birdwatching events, bringing together specialized travelers, tour operators, conservationists, and international media.
Under the slogan “Peru: Symphony of Birds,” the national stand showcased Peru’s main birdwatching routes, highlighting not only the country’s extraordinary variety of species but also its commitment to conservation and sustainable tourism.
