Our country won the first place out of the 192 pavilions present at the World Expo.
The award was granted thanks to a virtual vote held until March 15.
Peru pavilion installed at Expo 2020 Dubai, which has registered more than 1.4 million visitors since its inauguration in October 2021, was chosen as the best among the 192 countries attending, winning the World Expo Awards in the People's Choice Awards category.
The specialized magazine Exhibitor, which awarded the prize to our country, held a virtual call for the public around the world to vote for the best experience received by the visitor inside a pavilion, which ended on March 15, 2022.
It is important to remember that our pavilion was presented with the concept "Timeless Peru", offering a sensory experience and a synthesis of our historical, multicultural and megadiverse legacy; it was also an important point of commercial contact for our tourism SMEs and exporters from all regions of Peru, so that they can promote unique tourist destinations and a great exportable offer, and thus boost their internationalization process.
Also, renowned chefs, artisans and musicians attended the event, leaving the name of Peru up high. These gastronomic and multicultural demonstrations delighted Expo attendees, especially on the most important dates for our country.
Among the highlights were the inauguration and ribbon cutting ceremony of the Peru pavilion, as well as the National Day, held on March 7, when the United Arab Emirates celebrated Peru in a big way, and our country showed the world its cultural diversity, infinite wealth and the legacy of our ancestors, surprising the attendees at this event.
Peru's participation, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) through PROMPERÚ, has the commitment of talented Peruvians, as well as the support of DP World, Pisco 1615, Flo Trading, Modenart Perú, Terracota Lab and Adolf Finseth.
