The international campaign, created by PROMPERÚ and launched in 2023, was recognized at the prestigious festival, part of the CIFFT circuit.
The campaign Peru Now, created by PROMPERÚ, won the top distinction — the Blue Danube — at the latest edition of the SILKFEST International Tour & Eco Film Festival, a key competition that recognizes excellence in tourism promotion.
The Peruvian dances spots, filmed in major cities around the world such as Los Angeles, Paris, Milan, Madrid, and Berlin, along with the Inka in Paris spot produced during last year’s Olympic Games (2024), earned the Blue Danube – Best Promotional Video award at Silkfest, a festival that is a member of the CIFFT (International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals) circuit.
What was the award-winning Peruvian dance campaign all about?
Citizens of Los Angeles, Paris, Milan, Madrid, and Berlin were part of the amazing experience of feeling the vibrant rhythm of Peruvian dances. All they had to do was say “I want Peru now” for the spirit of Peru to come alive around the world.
Then came the performances: the Marinera, with its elegance and charm; the Scissors Dance, full of acrobatic skill and Andean symbolism; the Festejo, with its rhythm and energy; the Huayno, with its melodic beats; the Huaylas, with its energetic footwork and colorful costumes; and the Saya, with its power and irresistible cadence. All these artistic expressions became the true stars of the campaign, immediately capturing the attention of citizens who could not stop moving to the beat of Peruvian music. Music, tradition, and folklore came together in an incredible global celebration.

An Inka in Paris
Under the majestic Eiffel Tower, with Tayta Inti — the Sun God — as a witness in the sky, the Inka made his grand appearance in France as a prelude to last year’s Olympic Games.
This representative of Peru’s history had the mission not only to support Peruvian athletes competing at the Olympic Games, but also to share the country’s rich cultural traditions with the city’s residents.
The Inka toured some of Paris’ most iconic streets, catching the attention of passersby who stopped to take photos and learn more about Peru.
