Peru is one of the main countries in the world when it comes to surfing, due to the dedication and commitment of its athletes, its incomparable beaches, and the commitment that exists as a nation for the protection of its waves. Thanks to the hard work of organizations such as HAZla por tu Ola and surfers' associations, Peru has become a world leader in surf break protection. Since then, 43 waves have obtained legal protection, and the goal is to protect 100 breakers by 2030.
This Law was not only a milestone in the world, but also a testament to Peru's commitment to environmental conservation. Thanks to this law, the National Register of Protected Surf Breaks has been established, where all protected waves are registered, guaranteeing their long-term preservation.
