Cusco Named No. 1 in Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards 2025

Imagine a destination filled with history, culture, and unique flavors, and recognized as the favorite of millions of travelers in Central and South America. That’s exactly what has happened with Peru: Cusco has been named the No. 1 City in the 2025 edition of the World’s Best Awards, organized by the renowned magazine Travel + Leisure, one of the world’s most influential travel publications.

This award holds special significance, as it coincides with the 30th anniversary of a recognition that sets the standard of excellence in the tourism world. Every year, hundreds of thousands of Travel + Leisure readers share their experiences and vote for their favorite destinations, hotels, airlines, and services, creating a reliable and globally respected list. In this edition, Cusco was recognized as the most valued urban destination in the entire region, consolidating its status not only on a regional scale but also globally.

To celebrate this major achievement, Travel + Leisure will host a special ceremony in New York on July 16, bringing together all first-place winners. Additionally, the awardees will have the opportunity to request a commemorative trophy and participate in the World’s Best Summit, taking place on July 15 and 16.
