While Peru has good health and sanitation conditions, especially in cities, it is recommended to have travel health insurance. Additionally, avoid consuming food from unauthorized street vendors and do not drink tap water—only bottled or purified water.

There are no mandatory vaccines for entering Peru, but if you plan to visit the Amazon region, the Ministry of Health recommends vaccination against yellow fever.
